U.S. EMBASSYMalabo, Equatorial Guinea

Project Scope

Sometimes described as a “boutique” embassy, the compound in Malabo is small in comparison to many others. But it makes up for size in its exquisite materials and finishes, especially in its two staff residences and six apartments.  Important features include an exterior blending limestone, native hardwoods, stainless steel, and stucco; interiors with finely carved hardwood staircases, wall and ceiling panels, and decorative details; and liberal use of granite, terrazzo, glass, tile, stone, and steel in both interior and exterior elements.  This project was honored with the National AGC’s Best International Project, in large part, because of the exceptional quality of Caddell’s finish work.
