Engineering, procurement, construction, start-up, training, and testing for this combined cycle facility. The plant uses a GE Frame 5 combustion turbine fueled by natural gas or oil, a hear recovery steam generator, and a steam turbine generator to provide a total of 36 MW to the electric power grid. The neighboring James River Paper Co. uses steam from the plant in its paper-making process. A major challenge of the project was working on an extremely small site, just 2.3 acres. With virtually no room for laydown and staging, coordination of subcontractors and scheduling of material deliveries were critical to project success.
