Project Scope
Caddell was responsible for the construction of this cutting-edge elementary school that is among the most sophisticated, elaborate, and advanced of its kind. The scope consisted of a 124,000 SF, 2-story, elementary school to replace an existing school and included general purpose classrooms, gymnasium, information center, computer lab, cafeteria/food, service/kitchen, supply areas, specialist rooms, music room, art room, learning impaired room, teacher work rooms, counseling areas, storage, administrative offices, and all other required areas for a fully functioning facility. Unique architectural details and finishes included pre-oxidized copper cladding on the gym exterior, interior tiling, and the installation of special folding glass panels. Site improvements included signage, fencing, paving, landscaping, covered walkways, exterior lighting, and utilities. Demolition of existing buildings and supporting facilities was required. All construction operations were conducted without interrupting on-going school operations at the existing facility that was immediately adjacent to the site.
