ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS CENTEROrlando, FL

Project Scope

General contractor for construction of the 750,000 SF Electronic Systems Center.  The research, development, and manufacturing complex, constructed in only 18 months, consisted of seven buildings, including the Microelectronics Center used for the development and manufacture of semiconductor devices.  The complex sits on a 1,194-acre site. The Microelectronics Center required extensive high-level cleanroom construction and special foundations for vibration control in the wafer fabrication areas.  Other buildings in the complex included an administration building, a factory and support building, an auditorium, a maintenance building, a development building for research and manufacturing, and a self-supporting cafeteria.  The project also involved land improvements, roads, and utilities.  The contemporary complex was constructed primarily of post-tensioned, precast concrete
