Project Scope

The 400,000-SF facility, sometimes known as the “Cajundome”, was designed for sporting events, conventions, meetings, banquets, theater productions, and exhibitions.  It is operated jointly by the City of Lafayette and the University of Southwest Louisiana and provides up to 14,000 seats for conventions, 3,000 banquet seats, more than 6,000 theater seats and 12,000 seats for basketball spectators.  The arena floor includes 40,000-SF of usable space.  The sports, entertainment and civic center also includes a pedestrian tunnel from the parking area to the complex, administrative offices, 16 executive suites, two star dressing rooms, a 4,000-SF kitchen, and 1,500-SF holding kitchen.
