Construction of 609,000-SF federal penitentiary that houses over 1200 inmates. The remote location required extensive additional site work to accommodate the logistics of building a facility of this scale and complexity. Main buildings and structures include three, four-story concrete inmate housing buildings consisting of 792 units; three-story special housing building consisting of 48 units to accommodate medically impaired inmates; UNICOR plant; UNICOR work shop; entry administration building; central shared facilities building, remote utilities building; three-bay vehicle maintenance shop; kitchen/dining building; classrooms; healthcare facilities; and chapel. $91M.
