Power Units 1, 2, & 3
Goat Rock Power Complex Smiths, Alabama
Caddell has worked closely
with the Owner to build a cutting-edge combined-cycle/gas-turbine
power generation complex at
a remote 1000-acre site
adjacent to the Chattahoochee River. Having completed
two major project phases,
Caddell was subsequently awarded phase three, with
each phase designed to
generate approximately
600-MW of electric power
and featuring two combustion turbines and one steam
turbine with associated piping
and instrumentation.
Design/Build of Test Facilities
Cooling Towers
Arnold AFB, Tennessee
Caddell overcame numerous
unique
design and construction challenges
to increase process water cooling
capabilities at one of the governments
most sophisticated testing facilities,
without interrupting vital ongoing testing programs. The enhanced 12-cell
300,000 gpm process water cooling
complex features massive 40-ft. fans,
dozens of 30-inch valves, specialized
pumps, intricate piping, complex
hydraulics, and state-of-the-art electrical/instrumentation systems.
The project was completed to high
marks from the U.S. Army Corps of
Engineers and enjoyed a perfect
safety record.
Caddell
received the ABC 2001 Excellence
in Construction Award and the AGC 2002 Build Alabama Award for this project.
Piping & Mechanical /
Various Finish Trades at Bridgestone/Firestone Plant
Aiken, South Carolina
Caddell performed all aspects of
piping
and related mechanical construction for
this vast new 2.5 million SF (more than
54 acres under-roof) state-of-the-art tire manufacturing facility designed to
produce 25,000 tires per day. In
addition to the procurement and
installation of more than 235,000 LF
of utility and process piping, Caddell
erected process oil tanks, silicone
mixing reservoirs, various pumps,
and other miscellaneous equipment. Bridgestone/Firestone also awarded
Caddell a wide range of finish
construction including more than
250,000 SF of masonry fire walls.
Despite project
complexity and scope,
Caddell maintained a perfect safety record
with zero OSHA recordable incidents and
zero lost-time accidents.
